Betsy was born and raised on a farm outside of Wentworth, South Dakota. She received an Athletic Training degree and a Psychology minor from South Dakota State University. She went on to get her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota. Following graduation, she moved to the Lincoln area and she has been part of the Makovicka team since 2010. Betsy treats a variety of diagnoses and specializes in Vestibular/BPPV and women's health. She is certified in RockTape/Kinesiology taping and dry needling. She is a member of APTA and NPTA. Betsy teaches exercise classes at the local YMCA, and her two kids are active in sports. In 2023, Betsy was awarded the very prestigious Inspire Women's Award in the Excellence in Healthcare category. She received the award at a luncheon at the Pinnacle Bank Arena with nearly 800 attendees.

Jeff was born and raised in David City, Nebraska. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and received his Bachelor’s degree at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the football team. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center. There, he earned his Master and Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy. Jeff has continued to refine his skills and has been board certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and as an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) . In addition, he is certified as a Sportsmetrics trainer, a program proven to reduce ACL injuries. Jeff is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, The Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and The National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Curtis was born and raised in Ravenna, Nebraska. He received a degree in athletic training from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Curtis then moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and attended Creighton University where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and completed an orthopedic residency through the partnership of Creighton University and Makovicka Physical Therapy. Curtis is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). As an APTA certified clinical instructor for PT and PTA, he works with students and interns at local schools that are interested in athletic training and physical therapy. In his free time, Curtis enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, helping out on his parent's farm, and creating/building things for his home.

Trevor grew up in Mitchell, South Dakota. He received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from South Dakota State University. He then went on to attend the University of South Dakota where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Following graduation, Trevor moved to Papillion with his wife Amy and began practicing as a physical therapist. He is a member of the APTA as well as the neurological chapter of the APTA, and has a special interest in vestibular rehabilitation. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and woodworking as well as spending time with his family.

Landon Booker was born and raised in North Platte, Nebraska. He received a bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Landon then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy with high distinction. He is level 1 certified in Functional Dry Needling, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association with experience training both athletes and non-athletes for rehabilitation as well as performance goals. In addition, Landon utilizes blood flow restriction training which is performed with tourniquet pressure monitored with dopler ultrasound during low-load exercise to create the same resistance training adaptations which typically only occur at very high loads/ resistance. This modality is highly suited for rehab to safely and quickly increase strength and muscle size without overly stressing healing tissues. Landon is one of few providers in Lincoln with an isokinetic dynamometer which he uses to help determine readiness of athletes to return to sport following injury especially ACL reconstruction and knee ligament injury.

Chris was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. He attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, graduating with honors. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend Creighton University where he graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Chris is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) with extensive experience in treating foot and ankle injuries as well as a Level 2 Functional Dry Needling specialist. He directs Makovicka Physical Therapy’s expanded occupational health program in Lincoln and Omaha and is certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE's). Chris is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association (NPTA). He is currently serving on the Steering Committee for the Better Business Bureau Integrity Award Review Committee in Lincoln. Chris was recently nominated to the Workers Compensation Association of Nebraska Board of Directors and was a 2022 recipient of the National Safety Council Rising Star Award.

He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association--Nebraska Chapter. Shane serves on the Plattsmouth Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is involved in many community and civic activities in Cass County. Shane, his wife, Morgan and their son, Lane, currently reside at Beaver Lake. Shane enjoys boating, hunting, fishing, and snow skiing.

She returned to her roots in Nebraska to obtain a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she was a Student Regent on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. Natalie has continued to develop her clinical and practice skills in patient care, staff and health care management and administration, and has been an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) board certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) since 1999. She is also an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Natalie furthered her education by receiving a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University. She has received numerous professional recognitions and awards for her work in physical therapy and management. Natalie is a member of, and has served in leadership positions for, APTA, Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. She currently serves on the Nebraska State Board of Physical Therapy and as Treasurer on the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy Board of Directors.

Upon graduation, Joel moved to Arizona to play in the National Football League (NFL) for the Arizona Cardinals. Following his retirement from the NFL, he coached football at the University of Virginia. There, he learned his true calling was in the field of physical therapy. He graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University and currently focuses his practice on developing physical therapy clinics in Nebraska. Joel is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and he recently served on the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

He was Clinic Director of the Makovicka/Sylliaasen Physical Therapy clinic in Waverly from June 2016 to 2018 as well as Clinic Director of Makovicka Physical Therapy clinics at West O and Aksarben from 2018 to 2019 and 2019 to 2021. She attended MO Western State University and received her Associate of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant and worked part-time as a PTA for the next two years while finishing her Bachelor of Science in General Psychology. Amanda has an Aquatic Therapy & Rehabilitation certification (ATRIC). Her career has taken her to an additional five states as a contract PTA throughout eight years. This was an experience and opportunity of a lifetime getting to work in so many settings, meeting new friends, and traveling the country. After eight years of traveling, she was ready to settle down and be closer to family and took a job in Lee's Summit, MO at an outpatient clinic. Amanda eventually moved to Omaha to be closer to her fiancé. She married her husband Jay in November of 2022. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys staying active, being involved in the church, serving at Open Door Mission with her husband and colleagues, and spending time with her family and friends. She is excited to be part of the Makovicka PT team and put down roots here in Omaha.

Abby touched the lives of patients and colleagues in many of our clinics, providing excellent care as a Physical Therapist Assistant, and adding joy to the daily routine. She made friends wherever she went, and her absence creates a void. She will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to Abby's family and friends, and all who knew and loved her. Excerpts from Abby's obituary: Abby was born on September 28, 1998, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Jered and Brenda (Puck) Olberding. She grew up in Carroll, IA and graduated from Carroll High School in 2017 where she participated in track, cross country, band, and softball. Her love of fitness led her to Buena Vista in Storm Lake where she ran track. She graduated in 2020 with a degree in Human Performance. Abby attended Clarkson College and graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program in the fall of 2022 with an Associate of Science Degree in PTA. She was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success Honor Society. Abby thrived at her job doing what she loved at Makovicka Physical Therapy. Abby lived life to the fullest. She loved to travel taking memorable trips to Chicago, Minneapolis, Delaware, New York, South Dakota, Maryland, England, Scotland, Florida, Tennessee, Ireland, and Nevada. Abby’s bubbly personality led her to many friendships and a family that adored her. Family and friends describe her as a sweet soul and a ray of sunshine – which is 100% Abby.

Angela went on to receive a Master of Athletic Training also from Midland University. In her free time, Angela enjoys football, baseball and softball, painting, knitting and exercise.
