Betsy was born and raised on a farm outside of Wentworth, South Dakota. She obtained an Athletic Training degree, with a Psychology minor from South Dakota State University. She then went on to obtain her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota. Following graduation, she and her husband, a Nebraska native, returned to the Lincoln area. Betsy has been a part of the Makovicka team since 2010. Betsy is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association.

Jeff was born and raised in David City, Nebraska. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to obtain his Bachelor’s degree at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the football team. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center. There, he earned his Master and Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy. Since then, Jeff has continued to refine his skills and has been board certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and as an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) . In addition, he is certified as a Sportsmetrics trainer, a program proven to reduce ACL injuries. Jeff is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, The Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and The National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Kendy lives in Plattsmouth, NE., and received a degree in Applied Science from Clarkson College where she was a member of the first accredited graduating class. She is a licensed physical therapist assistant and also works as a PTA in long-term care settings. She is a member of the Accreditation Committee of the APTA and serves as the PTA clinician for the national PTA accreditation program. Kendy has 5 grandchildren that add enjoyment to her life.

Lisa was raised in Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated from Millard West High School. After high school she attended College of Saint Mary and was a part of the softball program. She then moved out of state and attended American InterContinental University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management degree. After completing her degree she continued her education and focus on medical billing by obtaining her Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification before returning home to Omaha. Curtis was born and raised in Ravenna, Nebraska. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he obtained an Athletic Training degree. Curtis then moved to Omaha, Nebraska and attended Creighton University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and completed an orthopedic residency through the partnership of Creighton University and Makovicka Physical Therapy. He is an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) Curtis is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association. He volunteers for Special Olympics and performs fitness screening for the athletes during the Spring Games in Nebraska. Curtis enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and helping out on his parent's farm.

He then attended Creighton University in Omaha, and earned his doctorate of physical therapy. Kellen is an APTA credentialed Clinical Instructor. He is level 1 certified in Functional Dry Needling, and certified in orthotics. Kellen is a member of the APTA.

Landon Booker was born and raised in North Platte, Nebraska. He received a bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Landon then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy with high distinction. He is level 1 certified in Functional Dry Needling, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association with experience training both athletes and non-athletes for rehabilitation as well as performance goals. In addition, Landon utilizes blood flow restriction training which is performed with tourniquet pressure monitored with dopler ultrasound during low-load exercise to create the same resistance training adaptations which typically only occur at very high loads/ resistance. This modality is highly suited for rehab to safely and quickly increase strength and muscle size without overly stressing healing tissues. Landon is one of few providers in Lincoln with an isokinetic dynamometer which he uses to help determine readiness of athletes to return to sport following injury especially ACL reconstruction and knee ligament injury.

Irene was born and raised in Cozad, Nebraska. She moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where she attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While working for a Nebraska based management, development and consulting firm, she earned her Masters in Adult Education and Human Resources. Irene teaches human relations and management classes at local universities, is a former board member of Heartland Family Services, and belongs to the Human Resource Association of the Midlands and the Society for Human Resource Management. Irene earned her SHRM-CP certification in 2018.

Kathy was born in Lincoln, and raised in Omaha. She is a Gross High grad, and received her bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education from UNO, and earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, from University of Nebraska. She has served as CEO of three local nonprofit organizations, and worked at Clarkson Hospital/The Nebraska Medical Center in the Occupational Health, Community Relations and Marketing Departments. Most recently, she created, owned and operated Canvas and Cabernet—Omaha’s first paint and sip studio. Kathy is a graduate of Leadership Omaha Class 32, the Nonprofit Executive Institute, and the American Hospital Association’s Creating Healthier Communities Fellowship. She is a former board member of WELLCOM, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Downtown YMCA, and Prevent Blindness Nebraska. Kathy currently serves on the board for Wear Yellow Nebraska.

Beth grew up in Prague, NE and attended Prague High School. She attended Northeast Community College. Beth has been with Makovicka since July of 2013, and she says it seems like yesterday! She says the staff gets along very well in Wahoo, and they have fun, but they work very hard and keep focus on their patients. Beth is married to Bryce, and has 4 children she is proud of. As a matter of fact, when she is not working, she's in the gym watching one of her boys play or coaching. She has a young grandson she's also proud of, but she's quick to remind us that she is NOT a grandma...she's Gaga (like lady Gaga).

After spending 26 years raising her children, Sarah joined the Makovicka Physical Therapy team in 2016 as a physical therapy technician at the Millard Clinic, and really enjoyed working with the staff there. Being a Bellevue resident, she was especially excited to help open and work at the Bellevue Clinic. Sarah loves using her organizational skills to help the clinic run smoothly, and her primary goals are to use both her experience as a former patient, and her connections in the community to help every patient feel confident in their therapy experience. Sarah and her husband Jim like spending most of their free time keeping up with their adult kids and cooking meals together.

Chris was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. He attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, graduating with honors. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend Creighton University where he graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Chris is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), and has extensive experience in treating foot and ankle injuries. He is leading Makovicka Physical Therapy’s recently expanded occupational health program in Lincoln, and is certified to perform FCE’s. He is a Level 2 Functional Dry Needling specialist. Chris is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and he recently accepted the invitation to serve on the Steering Committee for the Better Business Bureau Integrity Award Review Committee.

Angie continued her education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She has a strong interest in orthopedics and sports medicine as well as geriatrics. Angie has advanced training in manual therapy, PRI techniques and Functional Dry Needling. She enjoys spending time with family, especially her grandaughter!

Natalie was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but was raised in southern Colorado. She returned to her roots in Nebraska to obtain a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she was a Student Regent on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. Natalie has continued to develop her clinical and practice skills in patient care, staff and health care management and administration, and has been an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) board certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) since 1999. She is also an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Natalie furthered her education by receiving a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University. She has received numerous professional recognitions and awards for her work in physical therapy and management. Natalie is a member of, and has served in leadership positions for, APTA, Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. She currently serves on the Nebraska State Board of Physical Therapy and as Treasurer on the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy Board of Directors.

Jon worked while attending the University of Phoenix where he received an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management. Jon joined the Makovicka Physical Therapy billing team in 2014; he was promoted to Billing Supervisor, and earned his Certified Professional Coder certification. Jon was again promoted--this time to Billing Director in 2019. Jon directs the billing staff for all of the Makovicka Physical Therapy locations.

After suffering a career ending injury she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she obtained an Athletic Training degree as well as had the opportunity to work with the Husker volleyball and football teams while working as the head athletic training student. She is a current member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, and certified in Sportsmetrics through the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation.

Joel was born and raised in Brainard, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he not only obtained his Bachelor’s degree, but was also a member of the award winning, three-time, National Championship football teams for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Upon graduation, Joel moved to Arizona to play in the National Football League (NFL) for the Arizona Cardinals. Following his retirement from the NFL, he coached football at the University of Virginia. There, he learned his true calling was in the field of physical therapy. He graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University and currently focuses his practice on developing physical therapy clinics in Nebraska. Joel is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association.

Dan was born and raised In Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended college and graduate school at Clarke College in Dubuque, IA where he earned a doctorate in physical therapy. In addition, he competed in intercollegiate baseball and tennis. He has since become a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) and received advanced aquatic therapy training. Dan enjoys working with all types of orthopedic patients, especially runners and triathletes. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, and is a certified clinical instructor. Dan was elected Secretary of the NPTA in 2018, and will serve a 2-year term of office in that role.

Shane was born and raised in Ashland, Nebraska where he attended Ashland-Greenwood High School. He attended Clarkson College and obtained his Associates of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant degree. Shane is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association as well as the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association. His clinical interests are orthopedics and sports related injuries, especially football. Shane currently lives in Brainard, Nebraska, and joined the Makovicka/Sylliaasen team in February 2014.

Marcus was born and raised in Omaha. Most recently, he worked as a Lab Tech in the research lab at Creighton, focused on neuromuscular consequences following knee arthroscopic surgery.

After graduating high school, she went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Chelsea then moved to Omaha, Nebraska and attended Clarkson College where she earned her Associates of Physical Therapist Assistant Degree. She practiced in central Nebraska for a year and a half before moving back to Omaha, mainly focusing on orthopedics and neuro-muscular re-education. Chelsea has special training LSVT BIG for treating patients with Parkinson's Disease.

Josh was born and raised in Beatrice, Nebraska. He moved to Lincoln to obtain his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He then moved to Omaha to attend Creighton University where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Since then Josh has continued to refine his skills and worked with patients of all ages, with many different diagnoses and functional levels and has been board certified as an orthopedic specialist (OCS), and is certified in Level 1 Functional Dry Needling by Kinetacore. Josh received the Young Alumni Award from the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at Creighton University. Josh is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association and a Director Emeritus member of the Alumni Advisory Board of the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at Creighton University.

Debbie started at Makovicka Physical Therapy at the Pine Lake clinic in August of 2018. Being a past physical therapy patient, she understand the struggles and determination it takes to get well after an illness or injury. Deb was born and raised in Lincoln. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, horseback riding, and spending time with family and grandchildren. She is married with two children, two grandchildren, a dog, and three cats. In addition to working at Makovicka Physical Therapy, she works part time at a veterinary hospital. Debbie says she has the best of two worlds being a part of the health and healing of those with two legs, and those with four.

Al was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. After high school, Al went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he studied English while he played baseball. Al developed a passion for physical therapy over the course of recovering from 8 surgeries, the last of which, ended his baseball career. Al spent time after college working in research, then as a personal trainer before launching his physical therapy career at Creighton University. Al has stayed involved with Westside High School the last 7 years organizing the strength and conditioning program for their baseball and girls basketball teams. When he's not hitting the gym as an educator or enthusiast he is pursuing his part time project as a real estate agent or traveling the world!

Cory originally hails from the great state of South Dakota. He was raised in Irene and attended Mount Marty College where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University. Since then Cory, has practiced outpatient orthopedics, home health, inpatient and skilled nursing physical therapy. He has worked exclusively in the outpatient orthopedic setting since 2001 with an emphasis in sports medicine. Cory has been trained in Postural Restoration and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association. He lives in Wahoo, Nebraska and volunteers in numerous community organizations.

Stacey has specialized training in Aquatic Physical Therapy, and is currently working towards certification. Stacey helped develop a non-profit organization, Bikes and Trykes of Central Nebraska, to help raise funds to provide adapted tricycles for children and adults who are unable to ride traditional bicycles. After sustaining a career ending neck injury he decided to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned a bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Human Sciences and minored in Psychology and History. He then attended Creighton University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Noel is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and he is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association. Danica was born and raised in Mapleton, Iowa and attended the Maple Valley-Anthon Oto high school. She participated in dance, choir, band and drill team. She then attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she earned her bachelor's degree. She is a certified athletic trainer and has her LAT certification as well. Danica is a member of the National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA). She is married to Garrett, and in her spare time she is a dance instructor. Danica joined the Makovicka team in 2018.
