Makovicka Physical Therapy announces two recent promotions: Lisa Barton to Chief Financial Officer and Lauren Watson to Director of Practice Management. The promotions took place May 1st.
Lisa Barton, CPC, CPMC has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer for Makovicka Physical Therapy. Barton has been with the company for 6 years, providing leadership and financial acumen. “This promotion allows her to use her skills, and leadership ability in the oversight of all budgets, and growth in clinic operations” said Natalie Harms PT, MPT, DPT, GCS, and Vice President of Finance at Makovicka Physical Therapy. “My business partners and I are very proud of the work that Lisa has accomplished in the past, and look forward to her input in this new role”.
Lisa was raised in Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated from Millard West High School. After high school she attended College of Saint Mary and was a part of the softball program. She then moved out of state and attended American InterContinental University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management degree. After completing her degree she continued her education and focus on medical billing by obtaining her Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification before returning home to Omaha. Lisa is currently on the board for the Nebraska SIDS Foundation.
Lauren Watson PT, DPT, OCS has been selected as the first Director of Practice Management for Makovicka Physical Therapy. Watson started with the company in September 2015 and has served as Clinic Director of the Aksarben clinic since it opened in November 2015. “The addition of Lauren to this position will allow our company to continue to expand at our current pace while maintaining the Makovicka PT culture, quality of care, and high-level customer service that our patients and our referral sources deserve and demand”, said Josh Richling PT, DPT, OCS, Chief Operations Officer. “ Lauren brings the skill set, coupled with the desire to focus on patient care and attention to detail in her new role”.
Lauren was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Following high school, Lauren went to Truman State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and played collegiate soccer. She then attended Creighton University where she obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Lauren is a board certified orthopedic specialist after completing a residency with Evidence in Motion, and she’s a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She has also completed advanced training in women’s health physical therapy.
